In September 2024, members of SAMIPP came together to make and sell baked cookies for the cause of supporting student athlete mental health.
Every month, SAMIPP holds a meeting for our member volunteers in which we discuss different mental health causes and share mindfulness advice.
SAMIPP most directly carries out its mission by presenting informational mental health content at sports clubs and teams.

SAMIPP's largest seminar audience was the class of 2026 at School for Advanced Studies South Campus. We presented to over 150 students about mental health and mental illness prevention.
From December to February, SAMIPP hosted a drive or lightweight gym equipment to provide local sports facilities with tools to support youth in sports for the new year. This is our Executive Assistant Saffron dropping off collections at the Boys and Girls Club of Miami, Florida.

The SAMIPP board is tasked with promoting and advocating our causes to middle and high school students in the community. This is Tatiana Santacoloma giving a presentation at a local community service group reunion to encourage SAMIPP Membership.
Among the events that SAMIPP holds to disseminate Mental Health information is our SAMIPP Speaker series. Our first speaker was Martha Fonseca, a licensed clinical social worked in the Miami area.
Our Mission
SAMIPP is an outreach project that aims to educate, bring awareness to, and prevent mental illness in student athletes from 6-12th grade.
