Who we are
The Student Athlete Mental Illness Prevention Project (SAMIPP) aims to be a resource providing education to, bringing awareness about, and preventing mental illness in student athletes. We commit to these objectives primarily through our monthly seminars in which we guide our members through methods that supplement their mental health and open safe spaces for discussions on personal experiences and stress management tools that foster a sense of community. Being able to open minds to having these kinds of conversations freely will ultimately help us end the stigma behind mental illness in student athletes and community members alike.
We have partnered with mental health professionals and nationwide sports leaders to spread our cause and expand our community. We also host interactive fundraising events to support relevant mental health causes. All our efforts aim to create a support system for student athletes, providing them with all the assistance they need in reaching their mental and physical health goals.
